Most Instagrammable café chain EL&N to open at ECKHAUS in Düsseldorf

Cologne, 27.09.2022. The joint venture partners FAY Projects and Alfons & alfreda have found another tenant for their project ECKHAUS in Düsseldorf’s Schadowstraße 78. The London-based speciality coffee house chain EL&N will open the “most Instagrammable” café in Germany on the ground floor of the new building. The lease of 260 square meters has a term of ten years and was brokered by Savills and NIELSEN Expansion GmbH.
EL&N stands for Eat, Live, and Nourish – a concept featuring food and drinks being elaborately presented in a unique and photography-friendly environment. The offer is seeing success in Paris, Milan, and Dubai, among others with a vast global expansion plan due to roll out throughout 2022/2023.
“Düsseldorf’s EL&N puts ECKHAUS on the map of a younger target group, which will in turn make the address Schadowstraße 78 recognizable and known also internationally,” says Clemens Rapp, Managing Director of FAY Projects. “We are delighted, that this original, most Instagrammable hot spot is being realized in our project.”
Another tenant in the ECKHAUS is GHT Gesellschaft für Projektmanagement Hessen Thüringen GmbH. The company, which is part of OFB Projektentwicklung GmbH and specialises in project management and construction support services, will occupy 180 square meters on the fifth floor for five years.
“With the second contract concluded, the leasing activities in the ECKHAUS are gaining a dynamic appropriate for the location,” says Michael Weidtmann, Managing Director of Alfons & alfreda. “Schadowstraße is one of the most popular shopping streets in Düsseldorf. The quality of the location and the quality of the property will convince more interested parties in the weeks and months ahead.”
EL&N’s Founder Alexandra Miller says ‘We are so thrilled to announce our first opening in Germany, right here at ECKHAUS in Düsseldorf. We will be bringing a touch of London with us, showcasing unique designs and Instagrammable interiors, as well as a locally adapted food and drinks menu, whilst still showcasing our EL&N classics known and loved worldwide. The ECKHAUS will have a total lettable area of 1,650 square meters, of which 785 square meters are intended for office and 865 square meters for retail or gastronomy use. The completion of the project, built according to plans by the architectural firm Phase V, is scheduled for the beginning of 2023.
