Specification
The waterfront location right on the bank of the Rhine necessitated special building works. For instance, the building had to be built on pilings in order to enable it to survive floods with minimal damage. In order to keep rent and service charges reasonable for the university of applied sciences as a tenant reliant on public funds, the maxim was: just essentials in sound, durable quality while dispensing with anything not strictly necessary.
